Jenny was born in Atlanta, Georgia the youngest of four children and lived in Dalton, Georgia until she was five. The Broadwell family then moved to Decatur, Alabama where she attended school, played basketball and sang in the school choirs. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in middle school. Jenny was very active in the youth choir at First Baptist Church in Decatur until attending college at the University of Montevallo, in Montevallo, Alabama.
Jenny's greatest achievement in college was deepening her personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She was involved in the Campus Outreach Ministry and had the opportunity to spend two summers on the beaches of Panama City, Florida growing in her relationship with God and learning more about reaching people for Jesus. She spent one summer in Japan teaching English at a church in Tokyo. She graduated with a degree in counseling and moved to Birmingham, Alabama where she got a job in banking. She worked in the mortgage lending department at a bank until deciding to pursue her passion for singing. She quit her secure job and traveled and sang with various groups, the Continental Singers, the Continental Orchestra and the Spurrlows. After traveling with the Spurrlows for almost two years, she married one of the trumpet players, Mark Luelf.
They were married in August of 1991, one week after finishing their tour. They took their already packed bags and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma so that Mark could finish his degree at Oral Roberts University (ORU). Jenny then combined her counseling and banking skills and became a financial aid counselor at ORU.
In 1994 they began trying to have children. After a tubal pregnancy, a miscarriage, numerous tests, procedures and surgeries including complete reconstructive surgery on her uterus, Jenny became pregnant and delivered a healthy baby girl. She went through five years of trials and triumphed in the end because of her dependence on God. She learned the importance of standing on the Word of God and changing her thoughts and words to God's Word. Several years before the birth of her daughter, Jenny began to write a book about her story. She believed that she would have a baby long before she actually had one, because of the promises that she found in the Word of God. She stood firm on God's promises for years before she saw the promise come to pass. Today Jenny is a wife, mother, author, songwriter, singer, author and speaker. She wants people to know that they too can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and that through standing on the promises in the Word of God, they can be full of hope and peace as they trust in God. She recently released a worship album that is the cry of her heart. Seeking God, who is a constant in the midst of the changes in our lives, is her desire and she wants to encourage others to seek Him with all their hearts so that they can find hope and peace in Jesus. Jenny and her husband Mark have been actively involved in the Worship Ministry at Church On The Move in Tulsa, Oklahoma since 1996. Their miracle baby, who isn't a baby anymore, is growing in her relationship with Jesus and loves to go to church at every opportunity. She already has plans to reach the world for Jesus. |
